Govind Ahuja (born 21 December 1963), known magnanimously as Govinda, is an Indian film actor, dancer, and former politician known for his work in Hindi films. Known for his diversion skills, Govinda has received twelve Filmfare Award nominations, a Filmfare Special Award, a Filmfare Award for Best Comedian, and four Zee Cine Awards. The actor was a member of the Parliament of Bharat from 2004 to 2009. Govinda's 1st film was 1986's Ilzaam, and he has appeared in over one hundred sixty-five Hindi films. In June 1999, he was voted the tenth-greatest star of stage or screen in a BBC News Online poll.

During the Eighties, Govinda acted in family, drama, action, comedy and romantic films. He kicked off as associate action and dance hero within the 80s and Reinvented himself as a comedy hero within the 90s. His earlier box-office hits embody Love 86", "Ilzaam", "Hatya", "Radha Ka Sangam", "Hum", Jaan Se Pyaara (1992), Dulaara (1994), Khuddar (1994) and Andolan (1995). He was recognised later within the decade as a comic book actor once enjoying a mischievous young NCC trainee within the 1992 romance Shola Aur Shabnam. Govinda had lead roles in many commercially flourishing comedy films, together with Aankhen (1993), Raja Babu (1994), Coolie No. 1 (1995), Hero No. 1 (1997), Deewana Mastana (1997), Dulhe Raja (1998), "Aunty No. 1", "Naseeb",Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (1998), Anari No.1 (1999) and Jodi No. 1 (2001). He received a Filmfare Best Comedian Award for Haseena Maan Jayegi and a Filmfare Special Award for Saajan Chale Sasural. He vies six roles in Hadh Kar Di Aapne (2000): Raju and his mother, father, sister, gran and granddaddy.

·        Early life

Govinda, also known as "Chichi Bhaiya", was born on 21 December, 1963 to former actor Aroon alias Arun Kumar Ahuja and singer-actress Nirmala Devi into a family with Punjabi and Sindhi roots. Originally, they were kshatriyas from the Hayhay vansha that later became called the Arod vansha. Govinda's mother, World Health Organization came from the Gahrwar Hindoo family, hailed from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Aroon came to Mumbai from Gujranwala, which is now in Pakistan. He is best known for Mehboob Khan's Aurat (1940).Aroon's professional career as an actor lasted for ten years, from 1937 to 1947. In these years, he worked as a hero in thirty films. He created one unsuccessful film. The family, living in a bungalow on Mumbai's Carter Road, moved to Virar—a northern Mumbai suburb—where Govinda was born. The youngest of six children, he was given the hypocorism "Chi Chi", that means "little finger" in Punjabi.

After Govinda received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Vartak College, Vasia, his father suggested a career in films. Around this time, Govinda saw the film Disco Dancer; afterwards, he practised for hours and circulated a promotional VHS cassette. He was offered jobs in a fertiliser commercial and an Allwyn ad.

His initial lead role was in Tan-Badan opposite Kushboo, directed by his uncle Anand. Govinda began shooting for his next film, Love 86, in June 1985. His first release was Ilzaam (1986) which was a box office success, soon followed by another hit Love 86 that same year.

He went on to star in several films of assorted genres between 1987 and 1989 as well as the family dramas Khudgarz (1987), Dariya Dil (1988), Ghar Ghar Ki Kahani (1988) and action and drama films as well as Hatya (1988), Marte Dam Tak (1987), Jeete Hain Shaan Se (1988) and Jung Baaz (1989). Govinda worked with David Dhawan for the first time at intervals the 1989 action film Taaqatwar and worked with Rajinikanth and Sridevi in Gair Kanooni that exact same year.

1990–99: Critical and commercial success

In 1990, Govinda asterisked within the cult classic Awaargi, with Anil Kapoor and Meenakshi Sheshadri. Swarg and Maha Sangram co-starring Vinod Khanna, Aditya Pancholi and Madhuri Dixit were also successful. In 1991, he appeared alongside Amitabh Bachchan and Rajnikant in the hit film Hum. In 1992 he appeared in Zulm Ki Hukumat, an Indian version of The Godfather, and David Dhawan's Shola Aur Shabnam. His flourishing collaboration with Dhawan continuing with Aankhen, the highest-grossing film of 1993. He and Dhawan would build many made comedy films that included: Raja adult male (1994), Coolie No. 1 (1995), Saajan Chale Sasural (1996), Banarasi man (1997), Deewana Mastana (1997), Hero No. 1 (1997), Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (1998) and Haseena Maan Jaayegi (1999). The actor Panax quinquefolius in a number of his films: "Meri Pant Bhi Sexy" in Dulaara and "Gori Gori" in Shola Aur Shabnam. Dhawan and different administrators ofttimes forged him with actresses like Karishma Kapoor, Juhi Chawla and Raveena Tandon during this decade.

Govinda's father, Aroon Ahuja, was Associate in Nursing actor throughout the 1940s; his mother, Nirmala Ahuja, was Associate in Nursing histrion and singer. His brother, Kirti Kumar, is associate actor, producer, director and singer. His sister, Kaamini Khanna, is a writer, music director and singer. Govinda's uncle Anand Singh (assistant to director Hrishikesh Mukherjee), introduced him in Tan-Badan. Singh's relative-in-law Sunita Munjal fell infatuated with Govinda at this point, and they were married on 11 March, 1987. Their marriage was a secret for four years.They have two children: daughter Tina Ahuja and son Yashvardhan. Tina created her movie industry debut within the 2015 used Husband.
